Child safety standards
Craggle has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation. Here is what that means, and how to tell us about a concern.
Effective date: 8 October 2026
These standards apply to the Craggle app and service, published by Causeline Labs. Craggle is a climbing app: people log climbing sessions, climb together, and share photos, notes and sessions with the people they climb with. Anything shared in Craggle is covered by these standards.
1. Zero tolerance for CSAE
Child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) means content or behaviour that sexually exploits, abuses or endangers children. It is prohibited on Craggle, without exception. That includes:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind, including drawn, generated or altered imagery
- Sexualised images, comments or notes involving anyone under 18
- Grooming: building contact or trust with a child for the purpose of sexual abuse or exploitation
- Sextortion: threatening or coercing anyone with sexual images
- Trafficking, or advertising or soliciting a child for sexual purposes
- Any other content or behaviour that sexually exploits, abuses or endangers children
2. Who can use Craggle
Craggle accounts are not intended for children under 13 (see our privacy policy). Climbing gyms are family places, so photos and sessions may include young climbers: share images of a child only if you are their parent or guardian or have their permission, and never in a way that sexualises or endangers them.
3. What we do
When we learn of content or behaviour that breaks these standards, we act on it, and we treat reports involving children as our highest priority. We will:
- Remove the content as soon as we know about it
- Suspend or permanently close the accounts involved
- Report apparent child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), as US law requires, and to other authorities where appropriate
- Preserve information as the law requires and cooperate with law enforcement
4. How to report a concern
Email privacy@craggle.app. In the app, open the menu at the top right, tap Profile, and choose Report a safety concern at the bottom — it opens an email to the same address. You don’t need a Craggle account to report. Tell us what you saw and where — the session, climber or photo — and include a screenshot if you can do so without saving or sharing illegal imagery.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. In the United States you can also report to NCMEC’s CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org.
5. Compliance with law
We comply with applicable child safety laws, including the obligation of US providers to report apparent child sexual abuse material to NCMEC.
